A very special dress!

Before Tessa was born, she was given a very special gift. Our 2nd cousin, Sandy, gave Tessa a small dress that was hand crocheted by my grandmother, Tessa's great-grandmother and her namesake - Phyllis. Our Grammy was always crocheting us afghans, doilies and tableclothes. When I opened the gift and I saw the dress, I knew that it was special. In the box was a note from Sandy that said that my grandmother Phyllis crocheted this dress for her when she was one year old. That was in 1941. So the dress is 69 years old. It was such a precious gift to have given to Tessa. I wanted to make sure we got some pictures of Tessa wearing this dress before she grew too big for it. It worked out perfectly that she fit into it during our beautiful but short spring season.

As we have mentioned before, Tessa loves the outdoors. Being outside keeps her happy when Papa is taking so many pictures! (We also squeezed in one more outfit since the day was so beautiful and Tessa was in a good mood.) We hope you enjoy these pics as much as we did. Knowing that my daughter has a piece of my Grammy, her great-Grammy means so much to me. Thank you Sandy for giving us such a precious gift. It will be cherished!

Thank you Papa for being our photographer too! We are so lucky to have that talent in the family!

Our 7th Month Old "Lucky Charm"

It is amazing how fast the months are flying by. This month we really were able to get out of the house and enjoy the beautiful Spring weather. Tessa is quite the "outside" girl. She loves spending her afternoons in the sun. We are running out of ideas as to where to take her next. This month we were able to celebrate Daddy's birthday, meet a dear friend of mine, Mrs. Riser, who happens to have been my 2nd grade teacher, and we celebrated St. Patrick's Day. We got to spend lots of time with Auntie Raleigh before she leaves for North Dakota and Uncle Shane who has already left us. :-( We will miss them dearly, like we miss all our Aunts and Uncles that live far away. Happy Spring everyone. We hope you are able to enjoy the weather while it is still wonderful!

PS: See if you can spot Tessa's two lower front teeth in some of the pics. She is showing them off in her smile these days!

One very special lady!

Today I join my family in wishing my mother a very Happy Birthday. We are so blessed to have her in our lives. She is not only a caring and devoted mother, but she is also such an affectionate Grammy to our little ones! Happy Birthday Mom! We are thankful for every moment we have with you.

Tessa at 6 Months

Tessa at 6 months from rebturley on Vimeo.

Today Tessa turned 6 months old. This has been quite an exciting month of firsts! Tessa's first Superbowl, Tessa's first Valentine's Day and of course Tessa's first try at rice cereal. She has taken to the cereal really well. (You will even see a picture of her reading the cereal box, making sure the contents are edible.) Tessa is beginning to vocalize noises that sound like she is trying to talk. She also is starting to move her legs trying ever so hard to crawl. We love seeing her grow and develop. We hope you enjoy our pics. There were so many of them, we had to just throw them into a slide show. Enjoy!

Tessa and her Raspberries

Tessa recently has been making so many new sounds. One of her favorite is the raspberry. She makes this noise often throughout the day, and we decided to capture these special sounds. Here is just a short clip of some of her noises. We hope you enjoy.

Tessa at 5 months!

Our little girl is 5 months! It is hard to believe. The last few months have flown by, but we have enjoyed watching her grow. This last month has been very exciting. We were sad to see our Aunties Kam and Gentry leave, but we got a surprise visit from our Auntie Merri and cousin Baby Grace. It was a short visit, but we were so happy to see them.

Tessa is beginning to show an interest in people eating. We are hoping to start on some cereal soon. Here you can see she is also very determined to start sitting up. Daddy is close by just in case, but she actually does very well.

Here is a picture of Tessa as our little "Buddha Baby". Adam was getting her ready for bath time and took advantage of this Kodak moment.

Here our Auntie Merri let Mommy and Tessa borrow Gracie's Moby. We had never used one before and Tessa seemed to like how it held her up. We might have to invest in one of them soon :-)

She is doing really well holding herself up. She can almost roll over completely on her own, but still needs a little help from Mom and Dad.

While Merri and Gracie were visiting, a friend of ours came over to visit. She has a little baby that is only a few days younger then Tessa. Tessa seemed to catch his eyes. He seemed a little overwhelmed when put between 3 Kerger girls. Although, his expression remained the same throughout the photo shoot :-)

Here are the three Kerger kids with our 2009 babies. The three cousins got some photos taken together in matching outfits. The room was filled with giggles as the three of them sat together trying to stay upright.

Tessa got lots of loving from her Aunties!

She is also really taken to her Bumbo seat. She like to see around when Mommy is busy in the kitchen.

We hope you have enjoyed our 5 months photos. Stay tuned for more as she is getting bigger!

Tessa's First Christmas

We had a very special Christmas this year with our little Tessa. We were able to spend lots of time with family and close friends as well. Christmas Eve we spent with the Kergers and we all enjoyed some wonderful holiday time together. Christmas day we were able to celebrate with Adam's mom and brother and we all really enjoyed seeing Tessa "slightly" interested in opening gifts. We look forward to next year when she will be a little older. This shot has got to be my new favorite photo oh her!

Here are some other Christmas shots of Tessa enjoying her new favorite holiday...just like Mommy!

We were also fortunate to have Adam's Dad and Stepmother out from Iowa to meet their new granddaughter. We enjoyed visiting with them. We also were able to take a generation photo with Tessa, Adam, Bruce and Great Grandpa Turley.

Here are a few photos that are so cute that we just had to share. We hope you enjoy them as much as we do. We hope everyone had a merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
