Today the Turley family said goodbye to one very special little pooch. Our sweet Gus Gus who also went by Mr. Gus-er-sons, Gus-a-roonie, and Gus the Dog. Gus Gus had been plagued with Valley Fever that set into his bones and made walking almost impossible. We had been trying to treat it since April, but very little gains were made and Gus still seemed to be experiencing a lot of pain. Our vet threw every medication she could at him with the hopes of seeing improvement, and expressed how sad she was that Gus wasn't one of the lucky ones that comeback from this sort of thing. Making this sort of decision is never easy when you know that the one in question was still so young, but we know our sweet Beagle is no longer in pain.
Gus Gus... you were a very special part of our family and we will miss you so much. Have fun with Sam in doggie heaven!

Gus was a good boy and a sweet friend to the family. The meadows of Heaven are probably filled with them all romping around like puppies...Gus, Sam, Kayla, Trudy, Beulah, Otis...and the list could go on forever...

Oh, we are so sad for you all and know what a special part of your family he was. The Kerger Family dogs are certainly having one big pain-free party in heaven! :-) Love you guys!
